High School greenhouse is filled with new plants

The annual Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) greenhouse spring plant sale is underway.

Colourful annuals are ready for planting

The greenhouse is part of the school's horticultural class that encourages environmental plant knowledge and development.

The program is entirely self-sustaining and received no funding from the school board or any agency level of government and, therefore, depends on community support to sustain itself.

The Greenhouse now holds plant sales open to the general public each Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the wide variety of  plants, including annual and perennial, are flourishing.  The greenhouse is located at the rear of the high school on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
