Story Time & Craft (Both Branches) – Join us for a fun FREE preschool story time program including songs, games, stories and general silliness followed by a craft! Adults must stay for the program. Story Time is at the Kincardine Branch on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and at the Tiverton Branch on Fridays at 11 a.m.

Saturday Stories (Kincardine) – Join us for some read aloud tales on Saturday mornings at 10:30.


Lug-a-Mug Book Club (Kincardine) Bring your coffee and meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. May’s discussion is “The Ocean at the End of the Lane” by Neil Gaiman.

The Other Book Club (Tiverton) meets the second Thursday of the month at 2:30 p.m. and will be discussing “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak.

Crazy for Classics Book Club (Kincardine) meets the last Friday every other month. Next meeting: May 30 at 2 p.m. at the Kincardine Branch discussing “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte.

Kids’ and ‘Tweens’ Book Clubs (Kincardine) – Both book clubs will end in May, followed by a wrap-up party. The next kids & tweens book clubs will start in September. Keep an eye out for some special Tuesday evening events coming up in June!!


Turn Off The Screens Week - Join us during any open hours at either branch for some screen-free fun! Lego, colouring, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, puzzles, board games, scavenger hunts, riddles, word searches and lots more!

Free Comic Book Day - Pop in for your free comic book (while supplies last) at the Kincardine branch, enter a comic drawing contest (at any branch) to win a prize, and scope out our comic and graphic novel displays! Check out www.freecomicbookday.com for other local events and freebies!

Story Stretchers (Kincardine) – Join the staff from the Ontario Early Years Centre, Kincardine site, at the library as they present a fun evening of early literacy activities for our young friends. Appropriate for children under 7 with an adult. No registration required for this FREE program that runs the first Tuesday of each month during the school year. Mother’s Day Story Time & Tea Party – Back again this year, an extra special event to celebrate our moms and grandmas. Wear your fanciest outfits, bring along a real china tea cup (no plastic at such a fancy event!) for you and mom and enjoy story time and a lovely tea party. RSVP at the circulation desk before May 9.

***NEW CLUB*** Rainbow Loomers’ Club (Kincardine)– By overwhelming request, following our “Wacky Weavers” program, we kick off our brand new club for all our young Rainbow Looming patrons! Stop in, bring your loom, try out ours, and learn from each other! Come and create at your library!!

*** NEW PROGRAM*** Make it ~ Take It (both branches) - A fun, drop-in Do-It-Yourself station. Let your creativity shine! Kids ages 7 – 12 will enjoy this chance to create on Saturdays. Wonder what we’re doing?.....you’ll have to pop in and see!

Chalk-It-Up (both branches) – Back again to enjoy in the sunshine, we will have sidewalk chalk and other outdoor fun set up in front of the library. Pop around on Fridays in Tiverton and Wednesday in Kincardine.

Free Movies AND Snacks – In partnership with Kincardine and District Community Living, we jointly invite you to two EXTRA movie showings in the month of May (including free snacks!). On the evening of the 13th we will be showing “The Mighty” at 6 p.m. and on the afternoon of the 31st we’ll show a family matinee of “The Lego Movie” at 12:30 p.m. Space is limited in our meeting room, so come early!


Poet Laureate, Terry Burns – Join us as we welcome Terry Burns as she does a reading and answers questions about her role as Owen Sound Poet Laureate. Admission is free, space is limited.

Adult Matinee Movies (Both Branches) – Back by popular demand, we are showing movies the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at Kincardine Branch and 1st & 3rd Thursday in Tiverton. Join us as we show “Nebraska” on the 1st & 3rd and “Inside Llewyn Davis” on the 15th & 17th (titles subject to change). **NEW TIME*** Knit Happens (Kincardine) – An unstructured, informal opportunity for knitters and needlework enthusiasts meets at the library for fellowship and fun while working on their projects. If you are interested in learning more or joining in, please contact the library or stop by on WEDNESDAY EVENINGS.

Service Canada (Kincardine) – Outreach office for Service Canada (10:00 – 12:00 & 12:30 – 3:00) is available as a service to our community. These offices are drop-in services only and do not take appointments or phone calls while in our branch. Please note: SERVICE CANADA’S KINCARDINE OUTREACH OFFICE AT OUR BRANCH WILL CLOSE AS OF MAY 31. PLEASE WATCH FOR DETAILS.

*Tiverton Branch hours will be changing effective June 1 to the following:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2-8 p.m. 
  • Fridays & Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Closed Wednesdays and Sundays
