Students at Huron Heights Public School in Kincardine, had a chance to showcase their musical talents at the Spring Arts Night, held Wednesday night, with the dress rehearsal Tuesday.

The event included the Beginner Band (Grade 6 students), music festival solos, a videotaped Grade 6 French play, the choir, a live Grade 6 French play, and the senior concert band.

It was a tremendous show, with the band and choir providing stellar performances under the direction of Shelley Van Veghel. 

The 60-member choir, consisting of students in Grades 4-8, won gold at the Walkerton Rotary Music Festival, and won silver at the Owen Sound Kiwanis Music Festival.

The choir was the second-highest scoring elementary school singing group at the Owen Sound festival and won a $200 scholarship.
