Staff at Bruce Power are ready to offer bus tours of the world’s largest operating nuclear site this summer.

The tours, which begin July 2, are part of ongoing outreach efforts to provide information to the public on the important role of nuclear power in Ontario.

The bus tours will run at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout July and August. Those interested in hopping aboard to see the site, should call 519-361-7777 or E-mail: bnpdvisitorscentre@brucepower.com to reserve space.

Names and addresses of all participants are required, as well as photo identification on the day of the tour. Children without identification must be verified by a parent or guardian.

We believe there is a significant public interest in seeing what exists here on site,” says James Scongack, vice-president of corporate affairs at Bruce Power. “We look forward to showcasing our facility and giving people the opportunity to learn much more about the role Bruce Power plays in Ontario’s energy security, now and for the long-term.”

Participants are asked to be at the Visitors’ Centre at least 20 minutes before their scheduled tour for security checks and a film orientation. The actual tour lasts about an hour.
