Music had toes tapping ...

Visitors were enthralled with stories of the voyageurs

The annual Metis Rendezvous 2014 was held under sunny skies as visitors came to Pioneer Park at the mouth of the Saugeen River in Southampton to take part in the celebration.

Featuring Metis music and dance, crafts and fresh fish, the Rendezvous is a chance for Metis to come together and honour the historic role they played in opening up and settling the Canadian frontier.

Several displays of early Metis life helped explain early Metis to visitors
