Mother Nature cooperated with sunny skies and warm temperatures for the 43rd annual Saugeen Ojibway First Nation Pow Wow, held August 9th & 10th (2014).

Hundreds of visitors attended what is one of the largest Pow Wow events in Canada, where dancers compete throughout the weekend in a variety of special dances and visitors have the chance to sample delicious traditional dishes.

Saugeen Chief Vern Root welcomed visitors first in his traditional language and then went on to explain the traditional connection of the First Nation to the land.

Dancers come from across Canada and the United States dressed in exquisitely created and hand-crafted regalia.
