Mary Flemming of Maple Court Villa in Walkerton celebrated her 100th birthday Sept. 30.

The retired teacher is a life member of the South Bruce branch of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario (RWTO). To honour this milestone birthday, Carole Machan and Joan Kirkham of the RWTO brought flowers and congratulations to their colleague.

Flemming first taught in Cargill, moved away for several years and then returned to Chesley to teach before retiring in 1964.

She credits her longevity to farm-living and eating what you grow.
