It's one of the most popular programs at G. C. Huston Public School thanks to Principal Dan Russell.

An accomplished archer, Russell initiated the program that includes both students and their parents or family members.

Archery is about teaching personal skills such as, patience, focus, persistence and dexterity.  In addition, everyone learns how to accomplish the basics of archery correctly and safely.

Russell also acquired some of the best learning equipment available with a variety of different bow styles.

There is also a very positive aspect of archery ... it is for almost any age, any size and is definitely a 'co-ed' sport. Many of the students who had never held a bow have gone on to have accomplished technique in bow handling and target shooting.
