Incumbent Conservative MP Ben Lobb officially kicked off his election campaign on Thursday, August 13th at the Knight of Columbus Hall in Wingham.

More than 200 party faithful turned out for the event, from all corners of the Huron-Bruce riding, where they heard guest speaker former Global Broadcaster and current MP for Thornhill, Peter Kent.

In addition, Lobb presented former MPs and MPPs with special certificates for service and signed by Prime Minister Harper.

Lobb also presented a slide presentation on the careers of each of the certificate recipients highlighting their years of service and achievement.

MPP Lisa Thompson, who was also in attendance, confirmed her support of her Lobb .  "Ben always stays calm and cool," said Thompson, "and he always wants what's best for the people of Huron Bruce."

"I'm honoured to be in the company of such great people," said Lobb referring to the honoured recipients. "In five days, we've knocked on 2,000 doors and we'll be out in the entire riding over the next few weeks."

Lobb thanked everyone for coming and received a standing ovation.
