Volunteers began to gather in the park

Mother Nature cooperated fully with a warm sunny day on Sunday, August 30th (2015) for Federal Liberal Candidate Allan Thompson who held an appreciation BBQ for his campaign volunteers at Dunsmoor Park in Kincardine.

Thompson told supporters that, as a child he had attended Sunday School picnics in the park with his family.

"This is about all of you," said Thompson to the volunteers. "This is about coming together as a team, to join others from across the entire riding to accomplish one thing ... to take our country back!"

Take our Country back, says Allan Thompson

Although he thanked all the volunteers, one very special one stood out ... his son, Laith.  "Laith has spent his summer with me on the campaign trail and I can't tell you what it means to me.  My owner father, here in Bruce County, ran for office and won but I never had the chance to be part of that and it is one of the few things I regret.  So, to my have son with me means everything."

Among those who also came out for the event were supporters and long time successful Liberal politicians in Huron-Bruce riding, MP Paul Stickle and MPP Jack Riddell.

Thompson has based his campaign on ... "integrity, fairness and the need for a rural voice".  "Everyday, people take to me about integrity and how they are sick and tired o the Stephen Harper government and his style of governing ... it just is not the Canadian way."

"What we're fighting for is a Canada where we help each other before we help ourselves."
