On Saturday, August 29, the Gathering of the Bands was held at Victoria Park. The refreshment tent was sponsored by the Legion and had approximately 60 volunteers throughout the day working a minimum of a two hour shift. Thanks to Chair Bob Forrest, co-chairs Dave Little, Dave Nathanson, Jim McDonald, Bob Fletcher, and Mary Farrell for all their efforts and hard work. Barbara Forrest and Jane Bowers did an excellent job in handling the cash floats, making the deposits, keeping track of expenses and ensuring everything balanced at the end of the event.

The Legion wishes to thank the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band for allowing us this opportunity to fundraise, West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance for the use of their event trailer, Ken Fair and Larry Bannerman of the Kincardine Lions Club for assisting with the set up and operation of the draft trailer, the Scottish Festival volunteers for covering one of the two hour shifts, the United Church for the office space, Tom Wheildon of OBN Owen Sound for providing security on short notice and all the volunteers from the Legion and their family and friends for their continued support. This is a very profitable one day event with excellent returns on our volunteerís time.

On Thursday, October 15th at 1:30 pm, the Goderich Legion is hosting a Seniors Safe Driving Refresher Presentation and Review of License Renewals. All seniors are invited to attend.
