Despite the Provincial teachers' work to rule strike mandate through the teachers union, annual Fall events at rural schools are going ahead as planned, as parents step in to fill the void of organizing extra-curricula events.

Parents 'pitch in' with delicious and nutritious salads to accompany fresh corn-on-the-cob

G. C. Huston Public School in Southampton (Saugeen Shores) went ahead with its annual corn roast, a tradition held every fall during harvest time.

Normally, it is also 'meet the teacher' night where parents have an opportunity to meet the teachers and discuss their children's progress but, this year, that did not take place.
