In the coming weeks we will be renovating the clubroom bar area. The entire bar area will be affected but we will try to cause minimum disruption to service. The work being done will not affect any scheduled events or alter the bar hours.

We ask that all patrons please be patient and Iím sure you will find the renovated bar area to be a vast improvement over the current setup.

If you havenít purchased your tickets yet for the Cliff Erickson show you might want to do so before they run out. He puts on a really good show and provides great entertainment for everyone. His show at the Legion is on October 23rd at 7:30 and tickets are still available at the Legion, Re-Max, Home Hardware and Boston Pizza.

Are you thinking about your Christmas party yet? Remember, the Legion can accommodate groups of virtually any size. Call the office at 519-396-2372 for more details or information.

Mrs Kim Dolan, Provincial Service Officer, will be visiting our branch on Oct 28. Anyone wishing information, advice, or assistance with disability benefits, reassessments, reviews and appeals, assistance for widows or any other questions should contact the branch at 519-396-3837 or Peggy Griffin-Paetzold at 519-396-4292.

The annual veterans Zone C-1 Banquet and Reunion will be held in Exeter of Oct 25th. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Peggy Griffin-Paetzold at 519-396-4292.

Every Friday evening is euchre night at the legion beginning at 7 pm. Meat draws are held each Saturday with the first draw at 3 pm. The next kitchen party (musical jam session) will be Friday Oct 9 at 7 pm.

The next trivia night is Friday Oct 16 also at 7 pm. This monthís theme is Halloween so wear your favourite costume. It should also be mentioned that although hats are not normally allowed to be worn in the Legion, for this trivia night, that rule is being waived if the headgear is part of a costume. Itís also a good idea to arrive early since this is a very popular event and the room fills quickly.

On Wed Oct 14 a shuffleboard league will be starting. This league will be made up of teams of 2 and is open to both men and women. The entry fee is just $5.00 per person, so get a partner and contact Doug Holtby at:holtbyd@tnt21.com or 519-396-8184. Doug can provide you with all the details. The initial plan is to have games at 7, 8, and 9 pm. Come out on the 14th at 7 pm and get all the details.
