Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week takes place from November 15 to 21, 2015 with several schools in Bluewater District School Board recognizing the occasion through the coordination of positive school climate activities.

Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is just one example of how Bluewater District School Board students and staff come together on a regular basis to foster and promote well-being and safe learning environments for all.

A number of secondary schools are creating safe spaces that further promote inclusivity, anti-stigma and positive school cultures. This is another opportunity for students to gain support from caring adults within the school environment as well as access resources from community partners.

"Our mental health and wellness strategy for Bluewater District School Board is evolving as we continue to develop initiatives, protocols and procedures that are built on current evidence-based research and practices,"  says Learning Services Administrator Wendy Kolohon.  "Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is another opportunity for our students and staff to highlight this important, meaningful and proactive ongoing work that permeates all that we do."
