(L-R) Bob Walters, Victoria Serda & Steve Wilson donate to Southampton Pet Hospital's Dr. Jeff Berry and Dr. Danielle Katz

Making music for a cause

Tor 'n' Sleave has been making music at Rabbit Dash Coffee House in Port Elgin, not only for a love of music but also to raise funds for an Angel Fund that helps furry friends.

The musical trio headed up by Steven Wilson and featuring Victoria Serda and Bob Walters, plays a variety of music on several instruments that include the ukulele, mandolin, tablas drums and guitar.

"We all love pets," said Serda, "and thought we could help a little bit by raising awareness and funds for the Angel Fund at Southampton Pet Hospital."

The group raised some $500 through donations over a number of weeks of playing on Tuesday evenings at Rabbit Dash on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.

The Angel Fund is completely donation-based and cares for those animals that come to them for adoption and for those pets where their owners have financial difficulty when it comes to veterinary care and also helps to rehabilitate wildlife.
