Port Elgin native and superb athlete, Josh Cassidy, holds over 75 medals in Wheelchair racing.

From the ParaPanAm Games and Commonwealth Games to the Boston Marathon, Cassidy has shown the world what winning is all about.

While racing is about crossing the finish line first, second, or third, to Cassidy, it is more than that.  It is about becoming the best you can be.  As a paralympian, he lives by his credence that passion, perseverance, hard work and focus can help anyone achieve their goals.

Cassidy's list of achievements reads like a sports anthology - gold medal at the 2005 Canada Games, winner of the Detroit marathon two consecutive years, Canadian Record holder of the 5000Metre, record setter at the Boston Marathon,  three silver medals at this year's 2015 ParapanAM Games in Toronto, was one of three local paralympians named to Team Canada to the Worlds in Dohar,Qatar this year and the list goes on.

Cassidy will be back again in the area as he speaks in Owen Sound on December 17th at Rutherford Hall in the Bayshore Community Centre.

Always an entertaining speaker, he will share his personal stories of success, and failure, and how to achieve self-fulfillment and happiness while overcoming obstacles in life.

Cassidy always makes time for young fans

He is a credit to his country on the world stage, a credit to his sport and, even more importantly, Josh Cassidy is a class act.
