In this survey there were an inordinate number of
multiple votes with a comment that indicated anger and/or frustration.
We counted only one vote whether No or Yes.
Multiple voting ....
hmmmm. You can express your opinion easily in the comments without
trying to influence the vote one way or another. Most people just
vote and don't comment.

Open Country ... done it before
It's goodness that wins
Good for the country
Excellent idea for world unity
best for the economy
Too many unemployed here already! This will be another burden on the tax
Absolutely . If we don`t help our fellow man //woman, then we all fall
short and we just might have much to answer for one day.
Use the money to improve living conditions on First Nations reserves,
ending homelessness and feeding hungry Canadian kids!
Certainly not the current plan which I believe is not being carefully
worked on! Based on an " election promise", so fast is just not right!
as long as the burden is not put on taxpayers of already over populated
areas....distribute the number of people throughout the country, so that
poverty is not increased and there is no where for them to prosper.
there are lots of towns and cities in canada that don't have already
Once every unemployed Canadian citizen has found work and not living at
poverty level I would think we could consider it. This would also be
after very strict security checks and their willingness to except our
laws and cultural beliefs as they stand.
Look at the refugee ghettos in European cities. No refugee in Paris
ratted out the terrorist leadership.
Absolutely in favour. We are a rich country and can and should accept
refugees in addition to taking care of the poor, homeless and native
I saw that some of our soldiers who have fought for our country have
been evicted from their homes to make room for refugees. We should be
looking after our own before bringing more people into our country
taking away jobs from our people and receiving govt assistance
The world must come together, "love over fear" check it out on youtube!
Walk a day in their shoes, and be glad you live in Canada. The Refugee
Program is the Humanitarian thing to do. Screen them properly, don't
take shortcuts and don't rush them in all at once. We will all be
affected in one way or another by this Program...budget comes to mind
and who knows how we will all end up paying for them.
Absolutely. It's the humanitarian thing to do. Stories and pictures of
their flight from Syria are heart breaking.
WE DON'T LOOK AFTER OUR OWN CITIZENS AND NOW WE HAVE MONEY TO BRING IN
MORE TO LOOK AFTER WE HAVE TOO MANY OUT OF WORK AND WE ARE GOING TO FIND
JOBS FOR OTHERS??????? WHAT ARE THEY SMOKING????
Absolutely not. Has anyone in government actually seen what is happening
in Europe? Get ready to be over run folks. Seems our politicians have
their heads hidden some place dark and stinky.
Absolutely not we need to take care of our fellow Canadians that need
Not until proper extensive background checks are completed. Trudeau is
an idiot for jumping at the drop of a hat.
If you are not born in Canada why should Canadian tax payers have to pay
for them when theres enough Canadians suffering we neglect to help
No we have our own problem with homeless or low income people that need
help. The Salvation Army has already given out over $100,00 to assist
people with heating and its not even winter. Security checked on these
people is a joke. it takes me 6 weeks minimum for a security check and
it takes hour's for the immigrant's as they have no back ground to check
We have enough low income people in ontario not to mention the people
living on the streets.
We already have to many of our own people who need assistance but can't
seem to get help with food and lodging. Lets look after our own first
then help the others who might need help.
How many of our families came to Canada as refugees from Ireland,
Scotland, post WW1 and WW2?
How many is too many! The next shoe to drop is "family reunification".
25,000 could become 100,000, 200,000. What about our own problems.
Drinking water on the reserves for example. Can we afford it?
Many of us are here because our ancestors were refugees or immigrants
looking for a better life in Canada & we should extend the same
opportunities to others who need it.
Not in this case. I fully support culturally appropriate refugees that
are properly screened but this is more akin to opening the jails and
letting everyone out. The problems need to be solved in their own
countries and they need to stay there and solve them.
We either respond as human beings who share this world...or animals who
only think of themselves! We absolutely have to respond with loving
Charity begins at home. Look after those that are already here first.
When all are taken care of, then look at bringing in refugees.
We already have.
we have so many challenges here in our education system that many of our
students are not receiving the help they need. To add a whole other
challenge of teaching english to these children takes more time and
Why don't we look after our own homeless first then reach out to the
rest of the world.
Yes. With proper screening they deserve better than their present state
of affairs whether a refugee or living in Syria still.
We are a culturally diverse country and many of us owe our existence to
our ancestors who fled war-torn countries. Don't let our media-driven,
misguided views affect our human compassion.
It's the right thing to do. We have so much!
When we have jobs for all Canadians now here and Doctors and
availability of a emergency medical care without waiting hours and hours
then we will be ready for refugees and others wishing to come here. It
appears at this time too many freebies will be showered on the current
refugees for political brownie points and at the expense of all
Canadians even those that live marginally.
With the economic situation facing Canada bringing in refugees is not
acceptable. We need to help and protect those who already live here.
Of course! I am human, with a heart and a sôul. They are my fellow
humans, also with hearts and souls, who, through no fault of their own,
are currently living through horrific and heartbreaking circumstances.
What humane person wouldn't lend a helping hand?
We need to take care of our own first , then reach out to others
The refugees MUST be properly vetted to determine that they are not part
of an element we don't want in Canada such as ISIS sleeper cells or
their own version of organized crime groups.
We have many many people already here who need help first. Fast tracking
without all the proper screening will have consequences later. We should
be stopping folks in Syria and giving them the resoucres to push back
there are people in Canada who need help and can't get it so why bring
more Soon it will be their country not the ones born and raised here
Canada has so many homeless and low income families trying hard to make
it. I feel we need to look after our home country first. If our country
cannot support its own people - how are we supposed to support refugees?
Only 6 % of the refugees even want to come to Canada as it is too much a
we should absolutely help them but as soon as they get a job here they
should get no more government assistance. Assistance amount in the first
year should also be equal to what canadians who need assistance would
get not more. We should also spend an equal amount of money finding jobs
for our own people who cant find one on their own. This is fair.
Send them back home to their rat nests
We must protect people who are in danger if we are able to!
Bring more! With our aging demographic we need as many people to come as
is possible. We need more taxpayers and no one is more entrepreneurial
than a person who would take the ultimate risk for a better life for
them or for their children. Immigrants are our future!
Have no confidence that this "new" government can handle this
successfully! No need to hurry.....
We have pur on people to take care of us our own goverment cant help
support us but bring them over and get everuthing handed to them bs
wE HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER AND THEY HAVE HAD A TERRIBLE TIME. LETS SHARE
It is a wonderful opportunity for us.
I feel there should be NO Canadian in. Need be ignored before extending
support to others.
This is by the way a different person voting from this address. There
are many people in Canada that need help mwith shelter health and jobs.
We should be looking after them also what it is costing us to even
transport these people would go much farther in the places they now and
help more of them. This government and the people bringing them here are
doing this to make themselves feel good
look after our own people first
The permanent jobs that provide meaningful employment for Canadians are
disappearing fast. How can we support people from other countrys when
people who were born and raised here cannot support themselves.
