The annual Rotary Huron Shore Run is ending 2015 and beginning 2016 on a high note with two donations.

Bruce Power recently donated $1,500 and Ontario Power Generation (OPG) donated $1,000 to the annual event that takes place in June.

For 27 years, the event has raised funds for the local Southampton Memorial Hospital Foundation and, in 2016, a major expansion of Emergency Room and Lab space will begin, which means that more funds will be needed to equip the newly expanded facility and to help pay for the upgrades.

Each year, the number of participants has continued to grow and, in June 2015, all records were broken as approximately 750 participants registered and some $70,000 was raised (Click Here to see 2015).

The addition of the half-marathon qualifier has proven to be a popular attraction for the event with 'serious' winners coming from throughout Canada and the northern U.S.

The Town of Saugeen Shores has also added to the event with the Health and Wellness Fair where a wide variety of vendors promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
