Team Meridian presents a cheque to Tiffany Love (R), Community & Fund Development Coordinator for the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey

Meridian, Ontario’s largest credit union, proudly announces a combined donation of $15,000 to three Ontario charities who were nominated by Meridian’s Facebook community.

Meridian’s Holiday Donation Facebook campaign called on the online community to nominate their favourite charity for a chance to receive a $5,000 donation from Meridian.  The weeklong campaign ran from December 11 to December 18 and more than 150 nominations were made.

An internal panel of judges vetted through the nominations and selected three charities who will each receive $5,000.

The selected charities are: 1.    St. Joseph Food Bank in Pembroke, ON
2.
Grand River Conservation Authority
3.    Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey

“We are thrilled with the level of participation this social media campaign received,” says Scott Windsor, Vice President Corporate Communications at Meridian.  “We thank all those who participated and we’re happy to continue ensuring local decision making is part of all our charitable giving activities.”

Meridian supports hundreds of deserving causes throughout the year through our Local Community Sponsorship program. Charities and not-for-profit organizations are encouraged to visit www.meridiancu.ca/community to learn more about the Local Community Sponsorship program and to apply online.

"The Women's House is grateful for the support form Meridian and the community who believed enough in the work we do to nominate us for this amazing award," said Tiffany Love of the Women's House.  "Together we can help end violence against women."
