The listing below show the events in their order of occurrence for the Saugeen Area and Kincardine.  If you have a community event you'd like to list, please contact us.  Don't wait, list it early!  Email us  If you are a non-profit, a paying advertiser on the Saugeen or Kincardine Times or are promoting a community event, the listings are free.  Please post early.  If you are promoting a on event for profit, a listing costs $25 flat rate for 50 words or less.

Bingo...Southampton Town Hall 7 pm

Last Thursday of each month Writers' BLOC, an informal group of writers in many genres meets monthly at the Adult Learning Centre, Mill Street, downtown Port Elgin. Any writer welcome. Arrive at 6 p.m. and bring your supper, or by 7 p.m. for reading, feedback, news and conversation. A monthly challenge keeps the mind and fingers active!
Please note: December date changed to Thursday the 18th, with a potluck of festive goodies to share with those who attend and with our hosts at the
 ADL.

Toastmasters now, 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month

Toastmasters group  meets two times a month. Anyone interested in honing their communication and/or speaking skills would find the Toastmaster Program beneficial. We meet at Legault's Independent Grocery Store the first and third Mondays of every month  from 7-8:45 pm

Huron Defenders Drumming Club

You will use various recyclable materials, including painted food cans to transform them into beautiful pieces of workable art. Pre-registration required.  Limited to 15 participants – adults only (ages 16 & up). Members $30, Public $35

Saturday, July 17, 1pm to 4pm - Wall Art Sea Creatures

Kids will be assisted in shaping modeling clay made from kitchen ingredients to create their own sea monsters – similar to the ones at the BCM & CC! Pre-registration required.  Limited to 15 participants ages 5 & up. Members $15, Public $20

Saturday, July 24, 10:30am to 12noon  - Sailing Walnut Boats

Kids can create their own fleet of sailing boats using walnut shells – that really sail! Pre-registration required.  Limited to 15 participants ages 5 & up. Members $10, Public $15

Saturday August 7, 1pm to 4pm – Glass Etching

Jars will be provided to perform this beautiful form of art – but you can bring your own favourite one to work on if you choose! 

Pre-registration required.  Limited to 15 participants - adults only (ages 16 & up). Members $20, Public $25

    A Wine Tasting Experience To Educate your Palate!

 

 Working with Vincor Canada, the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre will present its 2nd Annual Wine Tasting on Wednesday, July 28th at 8pm.  Sommelier and caterer, Ellen Schmaltz of Mildmay will teach and guide you through the terms and techniques of tasting wines and pairing them with the right foods. Recipes are available for the food samplings provided. 
 

Tickets are only on sale until Saturday, July 24, 2010! 

Tickets are $20 for Museum members and $30 for the public, plus HST for all tickets.
