I was intrigued with Larry Leonardís photos of the Odysseus stranded on what we have always called Clam Point. She was a good 50 metres from the shoreline at least.

Out of curiosity, does anyone of your readers or reporters know where she came from and how she ended up there?

Here are another couple of shots (by LePage)

Work began today (Wednesday) on the fairgrounds for the annual Pumpkinfest in Saugeen Shores this weekend.

Construction of the agricultural tent, that features the official 'weigh-in' centre ring for various prize vegetables and also where many events are held throughout the two-day event, began between rain showers.

What a difference a day makes. From hot and sunny on Sunday, the weatherman threw almost everything at Saugeen Shores on Monday, September 28th ... thunder, torrential rains, sunny breaks, high winds and hail. High wind warnings and rain continue for the rest of the week.

Sandy, thought you would like this sunset photo taken recently from the South Street beach in Southampton. Do you have a sunset gallery on Saugeen Times?

Regards
Marvin Doran

Thank you Marvin.... We have many great sunset pictures.  Most are in the Out 'n' About section.  If you scroll down and go back in time, you will see many great sunsets.  We will gather them together sometime in the next few months and make a  feature of them.  Thanks for your submission and suggestion.

Your readers might  be interested in seeing this moth we had in our garden the other day. I hadn't seen one before and I would be interested to know if others in the area have seen it.

My book says it ranges coast to coast in the North and also east of Great Plains south to the Gulf. Wing span is about 2". Keep your eye out for it.
