There is no doubt that this will be a birthday that Lauren MacDonald will remember.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauren marked a milestone in her life when she turned 16 on April 26, 2020.
Isolating and away from her friends and extended family, she thought it would be a birthday soon forgotten but it was not to be.
Her immediate family decorated the entire outside of their home, including 16 pink lawn flamingos and balloons.
Then, to Lauren’s surprise, family, friends and schoolmates, lead by her grandparents Ron and Mary Seaman, took part in a ‘drive-by birthday celebration’ honking the horns on their decorated vehicles.

A few leaped out of their vehicles and, practising physical distancing, left gifts on the driveway.
When asked earlier how she felt about not having a ‘birthday party’ with her friends, she said, “It sucks!”
When asked how she felt after the drive-by, she said it was “amazing” and that she was “totally surprised”.
It will probably be a birthday that Lauren MacDonald will never forget.
