A first-class truck serves first-class Hot Dogs

Most local residents, and some visitors, know about the famous ‘hot dog’ truck located at Mowbray’s Canadian Tire in Port Elgin.  According to many, owner Tim Whibley serves the “best hot dogs found anywhere”.

What people may not realize however, are the many government regulations required to operate a first-class food truck.

Whibley has the ‘cadillac’ of trucks specially ordered and built in the United States with all equipment and mechanicals demanded by the province. He was always licensed but recently, with changes to regulations, he had to upgrade his truck.  Not only did he upgrade but he ordered one that was completely re-designed and constructed.

“I now have complete provincial certification,” says Whibley, “and it only cost me $75,000!”
