A huge weekend for SMHF CT scanner

Community support continues for the Bring Tom to Town CT scanner campaign as the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation announces two large donations recently made in support of the project.

It was a busy Canada Day weekend as the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation accepted numerous donations to their ongoing Bring Tom to Town campaign. A generous donation of $20,000 was made by Duncan (former Bruce Power President & CEO) and Lesley Hawthorne on Saturday right before they headed out to lead the parade at the Scottish Festival in Kincardine.

The Foundation also accepted a wonderful $100,000 donation from an anonymous supporter with ties to the area.

To round out the busy weekend of campaigning the Foundation is pleased to announce a donation of $150,000 from FDC Foundation. This gracious and generous gift brings the overall fundraising total for the $3 million campaign to just under $2.7 million.

“With only $300,000 remaining to reach the $3 million goal the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation wishes to thank every person, business, and service club or organization that has so generously given to support this community project so far,” said Foundation Executive Director Tracy Murray. “Without the support of the community this essential life saving project would not be possible.”

The fundraising campaign is so close to the finish line, with only $300,000 to go. There are many ways people or businesses can help The Foundation reach the $3 million goal for this project; donate, volunteer at Foundation events such as the Gran Fondo Lake Huron, share the Foundation’s social media posts to help spread the word.
