Despite technical difficulties with recording that limited the length of video, Faith Lutheran Church in Port Elgin continued with its special ‘Blessing of the Backpacks’ service.
The service is held each year in September as young people head off to school and is designed to send a positive message with them.
Each young person and teacher was also able to select a stone that Pastor Dar Rath had inscribed with a cross. The students will carry the stones in their backpacks as a reminder of the positive and nurturing thoughts that the congregation sends with them as they head out on a new school year adventure.
