A roller-coaster nail-biter for SDSS Royals football

Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) Royals faced off against the Owen Sound Wolves in a nail-biter football home-game on Thursday, September 27th.

                                              Rival teams face off

A high ball went out of bounds

At the end of the 2nd quarter, SDSS was down 14 – 0 and from there on in it was a roller-coaster as the team chipped its way on to the score board for a miraculous come-back to make it 15 – 14 in the fourth quarter.

It was a full-field run for an SDSS touchdown … unfortunately, the referee decided to call a penalty and the run was discounted
Coaches Joey Wentworth (L) and Ian Clark were not happy with the call

However, Owen Sound kicked a punt into the end zone on two occasions and one was successful to tie up the game at 15-15.

Then, with under a minute left in play in the fourth quarter, SDSS ran the ball out to the one-yard line to prevent an Owen Sound win.

It was a hard-fought home-game for SDSS as they clawed their way back to end in a tie.
