A weekend of music, music and … more music as the Canadian Big Band Celebration returns

Dig out your dancing shoes … it’s the return of the Canadian Big Band celebration!

Beginning Friday night and continuing through Saturday, there’s music for every taste.

From Blues & Jazz in the many of the local venues to the sounds of the Big Band era on Saturday afternoon and evening at the UNIFOR centre with its giant dance floor, it’s going to be a weekend of long-awaited music and dancing in Saugeen Shores.

Among the many artists who will be performing is Jack de Keyzer a blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer who has twice won the Juno Award, Canada’s highest musical honour, and seven times received the Maple Blues Awards, including for Blues Album of the Year in 2000 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.

He has performed with top artists and bands, including Etta James, Otis Rush, John Hammond, Jr., Ronnie Hawkins, Duke Robillard, Robert Gordon, Willy Big Eyes Smith, Bo Diddley & Blue Rodeo.

Catch this renowned performer at the Port Elgin Legion.
