Acts of Kindness: Two Acts of Kindness make a difference for seniors

Kindness comes in big packages and little ones.

A smile or a “Hi” at the right time will get the Kindness ball rolling.

At the Chantry Centre, I see this ball rolling all the time,

We recently planned a bus trip on August 19th to the Bruce County Steam Show which was held this past weekend in Paisley.  Having a Senior group who are mainly one income, we try and do things on a budget. So, when looking for a Driver one of our members volunteered to drive.

1st Act of Kindness Tami Wilson stepped up to the plate. She was amazing and very good with some of our older seniors. She gave up her Friday afternoon to come and play with us at the Centre and, as a qualified bus driver, volunteered to take us to the Steam Show.

2nd Act of Kindness This led us to First Student Bus Company out of Kincardine.  With a call to manager Matt Mellor, who after a short conversation agreed to sponsor the bus which includes insurance, something that is rarely done.

I would like to nominate these two people for Acts of Kindness.  Matt and Tami went above and beyond and they should be recognized for touching a few seniors’ lives on Friday afternoon and making a difference. Together they made our afternoon one to remember and one that we hope to repeat next year. A great time was had by all.

We also have to thank the Bruce County Museum for the goodie bags that we took along with us.

Together We Can Do Anything,
