Ball weekend continues in Port Elgin

It’s Ball weekend in Saugeen Shores as the Men’s and Ladies’ slo-pitch tournament continues today (Sunday) at Cameron Park and Lakeview diamond in Port Elgin.

                                                                                  The Pete’s

The teams sported purple socks in their support of the ‘Sock it to Cystinosis” and raised $6,100 for the Liv-A-Little Foundation.

                                                                                  The Pines

Yesterday, The Pete’s of the Ladies League ‘A’ Division faced off against The Pines in what was a fast-paced game.

The Wismer House is donating $5 for each home run, up to $1,500 and Lakeshore Recreation is combining with Gord’s Imprints in giving $5 for every strike-out up to $500 with all proceeds going to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

With ideal weather, the tournament has seen excellent attendance and more good ball will be going on today.

Number one fan Vi Cottrill was in her purple socks
Ump Mike Stewart was all set for                           ‘sock it to Cystinosis’ action
Kristan Shrider of ‘The Pete’s had a hug for the ump but it didn’t sway his decisions
