The Bruce County Beef Farmers have been hosting their Annual Beef BBQ in Chesley for years, 49.5 years to be (sort of) exact?
2020 saw the Beef Farmers quickly pivot their popular event to a Drive Thru dinner that sold out quickly to over 500 advance tickets.
They were hoping to get back to their in-person event that fills the Chesley arena in time for their 50th anniversary, but 2021 had different plans.
Bruce County Beef Farmers (BCBF) have strong roots in the county and people look forward to meeting with friends and neighbours every year for a great roast beef dinner, music, and a fun evening. The Drive Thru BBQ is a great way to continue that tradition and last year people enjoyed their dinner on their decks at home in small, safe groups.
Mike Jeffray, BCBF president says “I think with the Drive Thru BBQ folks will still have a great dinner, maybe enjoy it safely with a couple of friends, and feel good about supporting local projects with the money we raise. We’re all getting used to making the best of a bad situation. Next year we’ll plan something special to really celebrate 50 years.”
The $25 tickets available in advance only, will include a generous portion of local roast beef, baked potato, corn, salad and all the extras needed to enjoy it. Special editions for the 2021 drive-thru event include a butter tart and a free gift!
Buy your tickets for a 15 minute time slot on July 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Chesley Community Centre. Tickets are available from Robert’s Farm Equipment Sales in Chesley, from any BCBF Director, or by calling their president Mike 519-531-2555.
