Bruce County closes trail systems

Bruce County has made the difficult decision to close all Bruce County owned trail systems, effective March 25.

“We’re taking this measure to limit the risk of coming into close contact with other people in public areas,” said Miguel Pelletier, Director of Transportation and Environmental Services. “This is the time to stay at home, practice social distancing and help flatten the curve of COVID-19.”

Bruce County owned trails include:

• Carrick Tract Trails
• Lindsay Tract Trails
• Brant Tract Trails
• Kinloss Tract Trails
• Culross Tract Trails
• Amabel Tract Trails
• MTB Adventure Park
• Bruce County Rail Trail

Until further notice, no members of the public may use or enter any of the listed Bruce County trails or parking areas and trail maintenance will cease. At this point, it is unclear when the trails will reopen.

Bruce County urges all residents to stay home, to practice social distancing, and to practice proper hygiene protocols outlined by the Provincial Medical Officer of Health: https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novelcoronavirus.
