Bruce Power and supplier partners donate to Pediatric Oncology

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Bruce Power and its supplier partners are supporting the cause by donating $135,000.

Bruce Power is donating $60,000 and its supplier partners are donating $75,000 to the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO), an organization that helps to ensure that everyone affected by childhood cancer has access to the best possible care and support.

“Bruce Power and our supplier partners are happy to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by helping POGO support the more than 4,000 children and youth battling cancer in Ontario,” said Pat Dalzell, Bruce Power’s Head of Corporate Affairs. “We’re proud that our production of medical isotopes also helps in the global fight against cancer for people of all ages.”

“Thank you to Bruce Power and supplier partners for your continued commitment to championing childhood cancer care,” said Lynn Wilson, POGO’s Chief Development Officer. “Your ongoing support has been integral in helping us provide exemplary programs and services to children, youth, survivors, and their families.”

The Bruce Power Supplier Sponsorship Program aligns the company’s vendor partners with local, provincial and national non-profit organizations that focus on Indigenous youth, health and wellness organizations, Canadian veterans and local Legions, community initiatives, and hospital foundations. Forty suppliers are supporting the program in 2022, which donates about $600,000 to these initiatives annually.
