Brucelea Haven participates in Walk For Alzheimer’s fundraising

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, twenty-two residents and twenty-five family and team members supported each other in Brucelea Haven long term care home’s first ‘Walk for Alzheimer’s’ in support of the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce.

The Brucelea Haven Residents’ Council proudly created a donation page through the ‘Walk for Alzheimer’s’ website and were able to surpass their fundraising goal of $500 – raising $1,060.00 and counting.

“The Alzheimer Society supports wonderful community programs and services that help support individuals and families touched by dementia in many different ways, including Caregiver Support Groups,” said Megan Garland, Director of Long Term Care and Senior Services. “Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the walk and were thrilled to give back to their community. Together we make a difference!”

A special thank you goes to Brucelea Haven family members and team members who not only donated to this cause, but also took time out of their day to support their loved ones in participating in this event.
