Canada’s Swim-A-Thon 2020

The Breakers swim team is in full preparation for Swimming Canada’s Swim-A-Thon 2020. that is being held at Centennial Pool in Port Elgin on March 9th, beginning at 6:30 pm.

Swimmers from all levels will be raising funds from now until April 15th, to help go toward the purchase of new equipment.  “We are in need of upgrades on our equipment such as new swimming fins, mesh bags, and a new locker for storage,” explains Swim-A-Thon Coordinator Samantha McEwen. “Last year’s event was very successful for our swimmers and we hope to see the same level of success this year.”

This year, the team hopes to be able to raise $4,500 and challenge themselves by swimming in various lengths challenges, such as the most laps in 45 minutes for the White level, and 5 km or as much as they can in two hours for the Jr. Blues, Sr. Blues, as well as the Golds.

For those interested in helping out the team through donations, please contact Samantha McEwen at samantham49@gmail.com or by visiting Centennial pool during regular training hours.
