Canadian Tire a ‘Jump Start’ ahead for kids

It was a super busy FUNdraiser at Mowbrays ‘Canadian Tire on Saturday, May 26th.

The Mowbray Family (L-R) Mike, Candace, Eleanor, Max and Zach

The FUNdraiser was in support of JumpStart an initiative started by Canadian Tire to help families who may experience difficulty when it comes to having their children enrolled in extra-curricula activities that include sports of all kinds for a healthy lifestyle.

Mowbrays’ Canadian Tire in Port Elgin (Saugeen Shores) held a mammoth event with race cars, a Monster Truck, BBQ, face-painting, bicycle safety rodeo and the Saugeen Shores Police bike auction.

Matt Mulholland & family of KNK Lawn Care presented a donation of $1,000 to                                                                  Jump Start
The Charbonneau family of Hi-Berry Farm presented a donation of $500 to                                                    Mowbrays’ Jump Start day

Dan and Kristal Carey with sons Grayson and Samuel brought their ‘Train Wreck’ monster truck

“We are thrilled with the turn-out and support of the community,” said Eleanor Mowbray.  “For the first $1,000 donated, Canadian Tire will double the amount and for the next $4,000 raised, Canadian Tire will match dollar for dollar.  So, for a donation of $500, it becomes $1,500 and so on.  It is a fantastic initiative to help families get their kids into activities that they might not be able to afford.”
