Yesterday, September 21st, was the last official day of summer and today, September 22nd, is the Autumnal solstice, which means the days now begin to get shorter.
Summer’s last day was very windy but the southerly winds brought with them very warm temperatures to southern Ontario, including Grey, Bruce and Huron Counties . The entire day also had heavy wind gusts of some 90km/hour which increased during the night. The temperature was 28C, feeling like 33C with the humidity, but Lake Huron water temperature is 17C and falling. Today, the beginning of Autumn felt like it as temperatures hovered around 13C.
