CFUW Southport donates from 31st Annual Vigil

CFUW Southport held their 31st annual Vigil on December 6th at Coulter Parkette in Port Elgin to raise awareness of gender – based violence.

Chair of the Vigil Organizing Committee, Sylvia Sheard, presents CWUF Southport President, Sandie Primeau, three cheques for $700 which will be mailed to the Women’s Shelters this year – due to Covid direct presentations are not possible                                     For larger view, Click on Image

Donations totalling $2,100 were received and CFUW will be sending cheques for $700 to the Kabaeshiwim Women’s Respite, Saugeen First Nation, the Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey in Kincardine and the Women’s Centre Grey and Bruce in Owen Sound.

Local women’s shelters have experienced even more difficulties during the pandemic not only in how they have been able to offer their services but also in being able to fundraise.

CFUW Southport would like to thank everyone who attended the Vigil to help raise awareness of violence against women and to all those who kindly made a donation.
