#5 ‐ THE LODGE
271 Bay Street, Southampton
This custom built 2500 square foot Scandinavian white pine log home,
‘The Lodge’ is owned by Susan Arthur. The house was built in 1992 by Randy Boyd of Southampton for the original homeowner
Edward Duddle. It was his dream house but, unfortunately, Edward became sick and passed away in 1997. There is a beautiful etching of the house on Edward’s granite headstone in Southampton Cemetery. Susan is the second owner and has taken on the same passion and love for the home by repairing and updating the neglected house into it’s former beauty. The timber frame structure, cathedral ceilings and taxidermy throughout, gives the house a rustic Lodge atmosphere. The main floor bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. Upstairs features a
cozy loft sitting area, two bedrooms and full bathroom plus a large games room above the two car garage. Susan rents out the entire house during the summer months, to those guests who have always wanted to experience life in a log house.
Susan welcomes you to her home and hopes you enjoy the tour.
