#2 ‐ THE SHIPLAP HOUSE
152 Trillium Drive, Port Elgin
The Shiplap House was built by Dennison Homes as the personal home of owner Steve, his wife Jennifer Haessler, and their four children. The exterior of the house is a simple Colonial style with classic white wood siding, black window shutters, and a front porch with trim details that anchors the red front door.
A spacious mudroom off the garage gives you the first glimpse of the white shiplap that covers almost every wall in the house. The open concept kitchen has custom cabinets from Bruce County Custom Cabinets. The dining room showcases a 10 foot long walnut table with a custom walnut “tree” on the ceiling to frame the light fixtures, and a matching walnut mantel in the living room. Upstairs, you will enter the cozy master suite with a walk‐in closet and an ensuite which features a free standing bathtub and a zero clearance shower. Each of the other three bedrooms has custom‐cabinets and a special shiplap detail to personalize the rooms. Beneath all the shiplap is a very thick layer of insulation. Steve is a certified “Passive House” builder and this house has been completed to this ultra‐efficient standard.
The Shiplap House had a lot of thought in the design to make it the perfect fit for a busy family of six and the Dennisons hope you have enjoyed viewing it.
