Chamber of Commerce Executive Director resigns

The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce (SSCC) board president, Steven Harris, today announced that Executive Director, Kimberley Inniss-Petersen, has made the difficult decision to resign as Executive Director of the SSCC.

The SSCC Executive Committee of the Board of Directors has accepted her resignation effective December 16, 2020.

“Kimberley has been instrumental in leading the SSCC in a new direction. She established many key policies, oversaw the redesign of organizational and membership support structures and was (is) an advocate for our business community, focusing her attention on Chamber member businesses and their needs especially during COVID-19.  The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce is in an exceptionally good position to continue on as a professional business association,” said Harris.

“It has been an honour to lead the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce,” said Inniss-Petersen. “Working with an outstanding Board of Directors, a passionate and dedicated membership, an amazing staff, and the vibrant community of business owners has been a real pleasure. I look forward to dedicating my time and energy on other passions and projects that will further enrich our community.”

“As we work through this transition, we are confident that the combination of our volunteer leaders, staff and business partners will continue delivering the benefits and networking opportunities that the Saugeen Shores Chamber is known for. On behalf of the members of our local business community, we wish Kimberley much success in her future endeavours,” added Harris.

Ms. Inniss-Petersen joined the organization in 2018 as Executive Director, moving from Sarnia, Ontario where she was Manager of Member Engagement at the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
