Several local Co-operators offices are taking part in the Co-operators $50k in 50 days mental health campaign in partnership with the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation. The donation matching campaign launched today, Monday June 19th, and runs for 50 days with the aim of inspiring local residents and businesses to make a mental health donation to the Hospital Foundation.
Co-operators has pledged to match any donations made to the campaign up to $50,000. Funds raised will go toward the new mental health and wellness facility current being renovated by Grey Bruce Health Services which will serve residents across Grey and Bruce Counties and is expected to open later this year.
The wellness centre is the first of its kind in the province and will have collaborative space for community partners, which will allow GBHS to offer a range of services and programs for inpatients and outpatients. In addition to individualized treatment and recovery plans the facility will offer vocational training and teaching space, as well as life and employment skills training, computer training for clients.
