At approximately 1:30 p.m. today (Fri. Dec. 29), a collision closed the intersection at High and Albert Streets in Southampton.
Two vehicles were involved and the impact by one of the vehicles resulted in a light standard pole being damaged.
Police, Fire and Paramedics were on scene within minutes and two people in the vehicle were extricated and, as a precautionary measure, taken to the local hospital.

The damaged vehicle that struck the pole was removed but the intersection remains closed as of 2:35 with traffic being rerouted.
