Donors can double the fundraising impact for Huron Shores Hospice during June

Nuclear Promise X (NPX), has pledged to match donations in the month of June, dollar for dollar, made to Huron Shores Hospice through the Canada Helps’, Great Canadian Giving Challenge, up to a maximum contribution of $5,000.00. Every dollar donated immediately becomes $2 and provides Huron Shores Hospice with a ticket to win a $20,000 grand prize.

What is The Great Canadian Giving Challenge? It is a national public contest to benefit registered Canadian charities. Every $1 donated to Huron Shores Hospice in June via https://www.canadahelps.org/en/gcgc/112613, automatically enters Huron Shores Hospice to win an additional $20,000 grand prize. The grand prize draw will take place on July 1, 2020.

Did The Great Canadian Giving Challenge make a difference last year? In 2019, over 109,000 Canadians participated, donating more than $14 million to over 12,000 charities. In fact, with the generous donations our charity received, through our supporting and caring community during the 2019 campaign, we were able to purchase a high-end fully adjustable new hospital bed for our hospice suite.

This year we are asking donors to collectively support our 2020 fundraising budget at a time when donations are at an all-time low and fundraising events are being cancelled. Individual donations will have a big impact, when doubled by NPX’s generous matching donation and each $1 donated will enter Huron Shores Hospice for a chance to win the $20,000 grand prize!

Meagan Fair, Innovation Catalyst at NPX, stated “We are happy to support Huron Shores Hospice by matching donations, especially during this difficult time to host fundraising events. This is our way of helping strengthen the contributions of the community to have a double impact on fundraising efforts, as Huron Shores Hospice continues to provide quality end-of-life care to residents of south Bruce County.”

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-led, community-funded residential hospice, providing quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss and surrounding areas.

“We are very pleased to have NPX’s continued support of our community hospice, said Cheryl Cottrill, Co-Chair, Huron Shores Hospice. Their offer to match donations will double the impact. We could not do what we do without the backing of our community and if you are in a position to give we would very much appreciate your support.”
