Fall in Love, Change a Life, Adopt a Pet at Grey Bruce Animal Shelter

Grey Bruce Animal Shelter sweetened the lives of Pet Valu customers on Sunday (Feb. 9) as they offered cupcakes in exchange for donations to the shelter that houses many cats and dogs.

A registered charity, the volunteer-based Shelter relies on adoptions, donations and fundraising to operate its ‘no-kill’ policy, housing and neutering services.  Prior to adoption all animals are neutered and their shots are up-to-date.

The Shelter carefully selects new owners and Exell says that new kittens are readily adopted but older cats are not often wanted for adoption.  “Sometimes people move and cannot take their pet with them or they age and can no longer care for their furry companion.”

Russwurm provides service-dog training and Summer, an Australian Shepherd breed, at only one year of age, is exceptionally well-trained.

Rebecca Garrod presents the prize package to          ‘Joe’ Fraser-Morgan of Sauble Beach

Also, on Sunday, avid pet owner Josephine-Amelia Fraser-Morgan of Sauble Beach won the draw for a Pet Valu prize package.
