Fire Service water rescue ready for the call

Saugeen Shores Fire Service water rescue was called out on Friday afternoon, October 22nd, when it had been reported that there may have been a boater in distress north of the Saugeen River on Lake Huron.

The Service with its Zodiac rescue vessel responded within minutes to the call and was ready to launch at the Chesley boat launch in Southampton on the Saugeen River.

As they waited, they received the all-clear message that the boater was not in distress but was, in fact, a fisherman ‘trolling’ along the lakeshore.
