It was a weekend of family fun at the Port Elgin Rotary Club’s ‘Hello Summer Expo’ over the weekend of May 20th and 21st. From what was the original ‘Home Show’ has now evolved into a family fun weekend for all ages.
Throughout Saturday, May 20th, hundreds of kids converged on the Plex in Port Elgin where they played for hours on giant bouncy castles, had their faces painted and pictures taken with Super Heroes.

For the adults, there were vendors, an opportunity to experience virtual reality and a chance to sit back and enjoy entertainment on the main stage.
As the evening began, more than 1,000 people attended the sold-out concert that was kicked off with the popular Sofa Kings, the warm-up act for the AC/DC tribute band, 21 Gun Salute.

Sunday, May 21st, was day two of ‘Hello Summer’ and, for many kids, it was a chance to again take in the bouncy castles and have an afternoon of fun.
During the evening, it was another sold-out concert as 1,600 ticket holders were entertained by Shania Twin and the long-awaited Reklaws.
‘Hello Summer Expo’ was a resounding success. “The response has been amazing,” said Port Elgin Rotary President Randy Bird. “The monies raised will go toward our Rotary projects.”
