Former employer returns as Manager of Strategic Initiatives

Jill Roote, a former employee at the Town of Saugeen Shores, will return to take on the role of Manager of Strategic Initiatives. The role will be responsible for developing a culture of planning and operational excellence and innovation. It will oversee a wide range of projects driven by the Council/Staff work plan and other priority areas for the organization.

“Jill will be a significant asset to the Town, especially now as we prepare for growth, modernize and focus on economic recovery,” said Kara Van Myall, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town. “She knows how to work across the organization, build partnerships with all levels of government and ensure we head in the right direction to better serve our community over the years to come.”

Ms. Roote has been with Bruce County since 2015, first as a Senior Policy Advisor and most recently as the Manager of Economic Development where she led the development of their 2022-2026 Economic Development Strategic Plan. When she worked at the Town, she managed the Town’s Business Enterprise Centre. She also supported various strategic portfolios such as physician recruitment.

Ms. Roote will start in her new position at the Town on December 13th.
