Tomorrow, February 20th (2023) is Family Day with many activities taking place for all ages.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. at Port Elgin Harbour, the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club (SSLC) is taking the plunge into Lake Huron as they return to their first Polar Dip since 2020 when COVID struck, with Saugeen Shores Fire Service on hand, and in the water, to ensure everything is safe.
The event is a FUNdraiser for SSLC’s on-going equipment needs – to donate contact an SSLC member.
Following the Polar Dip, it’s off to the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton for a day of fun and activities with Animal Antics when the Museum will be going to the dogs…and all kinds of other critters! Witness the wonders of the animal kingdom with shows and demonstrations by ‘Speaking of Wildlife’ and ‘Zoo-to-You’! We will also be joined by pet/animal professionals who will give you training tips and tricks for your furry friend. Looking for an opportunity to add to your family? The Museum will also be hosting a special on-site pet adoption clinic!
The three animal shows will be held at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 and 2:00 p.m.
If you wish to attend one of the three animal shows, it’s wise to register below to ensure your seat.
At the door upon arrival, our Visitor Services team will provide you with a coloured ticket to indicate the show time that you have selected. Please present this at the theatre door when the show begins.
To make a day of it, the Saugeen Shores Rotary Club will be hosting a delicious BBQ and Rabbit Dash Cafe will also be there with hot beverages.
