Good Things are happening here in Saugeen Shores!
On Thursday, August 17th (2023), Good Things came to Port Elgin with an official launch and ribbon cutting.
The name has changed from Gord’s Imprints to Good Things and, although there are new owners, they are also local and committed to providing the same excellent service.
Previous owner, Gord Lamont, said that selling Gord’s Imprints was an opportunity to make some changes in his own life. “When the new owner, Roy Roedger, and I discussed the possibility of his purchasing the business, I knew the Roedgers were the right family to take it over. We had the same values of providing the best possible local service and the staff is also all local so it was definitely a win-win.” Lamont is also a familiar local figure as he owns the skate sharpening service at the Plex sports centre and is also President of the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks of the new OHA Sr. Men’s Ontario Elite Hockey League.

“We are absolutely proud to be here,” said Roy Roedger. “I grew up in Port Elgin, played hockey here and now we have this new business with all local staff. The first order of the day is to make donations to some of our favourite organizations.”
First on the list was a donation to Saugeen District Senior School (SDSS), where Roedger went to school. Accepting the donation was Roedger’s former Principal Ray Fenton. Next was a donation to the Saugeen First Nation Food Bank and, last but not least, a donation to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

They also carry eco-friendly options including cups, water bottles, notebooks, and wheat straw sunglasses, and for the techie in your life, there are tech items, such as portable chargers and wireless bluetooth speaker, that are sure to be a hit.
