There is no doubt that graduation 2021 has been very different for students, parents, teachers and school staff.
Gone is the formal parade of students in gowns, walking across the stage to accept a diploma and awards with proud parents taking photos. COVID-19 has brought a difference but teachers and staff know how important it is for students and their families to make this a memorable occasion, even though different.
None of this has been easy on students, teachers or families, but everyone has tried to make the best of an unusual situation.
Saugeen District Senior School (SDSS) held a drive-by Grade 8 graduation where the students received their diplomas to the applause of their teachers and had their photos taken by, and with, proud family members.
